In December 2025, the Department of Mathematics at Hong Kong Baptist University published an alumni feature titled “MATH Alumna Karen Wang’s AI Startup, Climind, Earns Global Acclaim.” The article introduced the development of Climind, an AI climate technology company founded by Karen Wang, and connected its recent recognition with her academic background in mathematics and data-driven problem solving.
The feature presented Climind’s work in applying AI and structured climate data to climate risk, ESG management, and sustainability decision-making. It also noted the company’s growing international recognition across AI, climate technology, and sustainable enterprise innovation.
Recognitions mentioned in the HKBU article included Climind’s selection as one of 100 projects worldwide for the UNESCO and Nestlé “YOUTH IMPACT: BECAUSE YOU MATTER” program, its inclusion in the UNESCO-supported IRCAI Global Top 100 AI List 2025, its finalist position for “Startup of the Year” at the South China Morning Post Live Business Awards 2025, and its Outstanding Award in the Sustainable Enterprise Category at the 2025 Standard Chartered Hong Kong Business Summit.
