Presented Climind as an IRENA NewGen Rising Stars Award Finalist at COP28 in Dubai on 9 December 2023

The inaugural IRENA NewGen Rising Stars Award final was held on 9 December 2023 at the Extreme Hangout Amphitheatre in Al Forsan Park, within the Green Zone of Expo City Dubai during COP28.

The event was organized by the International Renewable Energy Agency, known as IRENA, with support from the Government of the United Arab Emirates and in collaboration with Social Alpha and Enel Foundation.

IRENA is an intergovernmental organization that supports countries in their transition to sustainable energy systems. It serves as an international platform for cooperation and provides research and analysis on renewable energy technology, policy, finance and investment.

The NewGen Renewable Energy Accelerator was established in 2023 to support youth-led projects and startups working in renewable energy, climate technology and the wider energy transition. Its first cohort included 40 young innovators and entrepreneurs representing 20 startups.

Participants completed a programme of training, mentoring and knowledge sharing focused on business development, investment readiness and the implementation of climate and clean-energy solutions. Following the programme’s semifinal assessment, eight startups were selected to present at the COP28 final.
